Day 1: Arrival

Let us know when you arrive in Tromsø so we can pick you up either at the airport or one of the hotels in downtown Tromsø. The drive to the Lyngen Alps will lead through fantastic mountains, along and over fjords to the cosy place Koppangen. Dinner.

Day 2: Dog sledding or Snowmobiling, Lavvu dinner

After a rich breakfast you will head off on your Arctic adventure, which is either dog sledding or snowmobiling.

Dog sledding: Before your tour starts, the guide will provide you with warm clothes and instructions about safety and how to drive your team of dogs. The dogs are friendly and enjoy their work. You get a chance to get to know them on your trip where you are surrounded by breathtaking nature, steep mountains and enchanted valleys. After you return to the basecamp, you will be served a hot lunch before returning to Koppangen.

Snowmobiling: Before your tour starts, the guide will provide you with warm clothes and instructions about safety and how to operate the snowmobile. During the tour, you will have several stops to photograph the Arctic scenery. Initially, we drive on easy terrain and follow the local valleys. In between we will stop for a short break with warm drinks
We serve a good traditional Norwegian dinner and after that you can let the day end with a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tub. If you are lucky, you may even see the Northern Lights while you are relaxing in the warm water.

Day 3:

Start the day slowly with a long and relaxing breakfast. Afterwards you can use snowshoes, skis or simply go on a walk to discover your surroundings. Alternatively, book one of the extra activities.
After a long and exiting day, dinner will await you in the lavvu. Your host will serve a dinner based on local ingredients, like fish or reindeer prepared on the fire. Warm yourself around the campfire in the cosy lavvu while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and eat some freshly baked waffles for dessert, listen to the stories told by your host and be ready for the lights to appear.

Day 4:

Departure day After three intense days of Arctic wilderness, we will drive you back to Tromsø, either to the airport or your chosen hotel.

Day 5:

If you choose the 5-day package: After breakfast you can participate in the extra activities (please note that these have to be pre-booked!):

Moose Safari by snowshoes: Join us on a snowshoe trip where we go in search of the biggest mammal in Norway, the moose The total walking distance depends on the group and the moose. You will walk around 2-3 km in the snow using snowshoes. We will take a break during the trip, light an open fire and serve hot drinks and snacks. After a few hours we will be back in Koppangen.

Learn to go skiing like a Norwegian – Cross country skiing
We start at 09am with skiing lessons. The guide will show you how to use the cross country ski. After a short instruction, we will start on our trip into the wild. The track will lead us in the forest and up into the big valley Fastdalen. Depending on your skills, we will go a few kilometres, before we do a loop and heading home. In between there will be enough times for breaks where we have the possibility to enjoy the arctic winter landscape far away from civilisation, making a camp fire and where we can eat some small snacks and getting warm drinks.

Day 5:

After four intense days of Arctic wilderness, we will drive you back to Tromsø, either to the airport or

Accommodation: Koppangen Brygger offers accommodation in hotel rooms, cottages and apartments with access to sauna and hot tub. When you are more than three persons traveling together, you are welcome to share one apartment and get a nice discount. Single or couples travelling together always get our newly build hotel rooms.

Arrival and Departure

Arrival days: Sunday (3 nights) and Wednesdays (4 nights)

Pick up at your hotel or airport in Tromsø. The travel to Koppangen Brygger takes about 2 hours and include one ferry passage over the Ullsfjord. The transfer from/to Tromsø is included in the package.
